In 2002, nine field studies were designed to address several aspects of the silage breeding and genetics program.

Trial Description
53090Adv Evaluation of 4 S6+ lines from WQS C0 topcrossed to LH198, LH227, LH244, LH295, and HC33.
WQSC0HC33 Evaluation of 45 S5+ lines from WQS C0 topcrossed to HC33.
WQSC0LH198 Evaluation of 41 S5+ lines from WQS C0 topcrossed to LH198.
WQSC1 Summary
WQSC1HC33 Evaluation of 137 S4+ lines from WQS C1 topcrossed to HC33.
WQSC1LH198 Evaluation of 132 S4+ lines from WQS C1 topcrossed to LH198.
GEMA Evaluation of 26 promising GEM lines crossed to LH185, LH198, or LH283.
GEMB Evaluation of 61 promising GEM lines crossed to HC33, LH185, LH279, LH287, or LH295.
STARCH A (PDF) Evaluation of 36 inbreds containing several endosperm mutations, GEM lines with varying starch properties, flint inbreds, and several checks. These were evaluated at two harvest periods for several grain characteristics related to ruminal digestion.
STARCH B (PDF) Evaluation of 5 endosperm mutations in the Oh43 background. These were evaluated at four harvest periods for several grain characteristics related to ruminal digestion.
